Welcome to the Swedish Shield blog

Looks like we have something new to learn today. The best way to start a blog is to start. We are living through the Covid-19 pandemic. It's not normal, or at least, it's a new normal. As 3D printmakers, our response is one of helping. Our Health Care Workers, those brave people on the front lines, are in need of Personal Protective Equipment. It's not available for any price. But the 3D print community has it in a conceptual way, with the ability to make it reality. We swooped in to fill the gap. We are meeting the need while traditional manufacturers are still warming up their engines. We come together with a spirit of cooperation and goodwill and become the change we want to see in the world. Hard work and a willingness to help combine to bring relief to many thousands who didn't have it before we arrived on the scene. I'm not positive that we are saving lives, maybe we are. But I am positive that we are bringing real relief to over 5,000 people to date, who are using the Swedish Shield, and many times 5,000 to the families and friends of HCW who worry for their safety. Many more will benefit from our efforts before this mess of a pandemic is cleaned up. Keep going. Don't stop printing. We will stop the spread.
